Okay, I'm doing it!

I'm going to attempt a 365 project in 2010. For those of you who may not know what a 365 project is, I'll fill you in.

It's an attempt to photograph something, anything every day for a year. I started doing such a project in 2004 soon after I purchased my first digital camera.  You can see photos from that photo-a-day project here:  Photo a Day - The Previous Edition

I will add a link to the side bar to the left soon. I'll also add a link to the photo album where the individual images will be collected one by one. The album will contain more detail of the photo like the EXIF information, for those how like knowing about that kind of stuff.

Thinking of trying a Photo A Day project again. Last year was a total failure...I don't think I made it past day 10? Did I even make it that far?



I've wonder if I shouldn't come up with a twist of some sort. One thought would be to pick one of my two prime lenses (prime = single length...non-zoom) and take pictures with just that one lens only for the project. Using the 50mm lens would be a pretty interesting challenge I think.

I will live to regret this, I'm sure

I'm working from home today (one more hour to go!). We keep the house cool in an effort to save on heating costs. Working from home means I sit still very long stretches of time. Which means I get cold. 

In an effort to minimize my discomfort, I pile on the clothes. Today, I even added a hat because that's where all your heat goes, I'm told. And of course, I haven't put in my contacts yet. The overall effect is quite...interesting. And I also have a blanket wrapped around me. I love how I make my large self look even larger :P

Interesting enough, in fact, that my hubby decided he would annoy me by taking my picture looking the way I do. He even threatened/promised to post it on his facebook page. 

Hah! I'm going to take care of you buddy! I'm posting it HERE first.

Blog Reading

I decided I needed to expand my blog reading. I get bored online easily these days. And heaven forbid I look for OTHER THINGS TO DO besides surfing the web. That would make sense. Many of you know all to well that making sense is NOT what I do best. 

Anyway, I posted over on the NSBR board at 2Peas asking for suggestions of blogs to add to my newly created Google Reader list. Irishwed posted several of her favorites. One of her suggestions was this one: MckMama. And I was hooked by the very first post I read...one she wrote this morning. It so wonderfully articulates my thoughts on the subject of Christianity and how its viewed by non-Christians. The good, the bad and the ugly. Included in this post is a fantastic video by Penn Gillette of Penn and Teller fame. If you go solely to see that video alone, it will be well worth your internet trip. 

We often find the younger three horses together in the stall like this. I love herd dynamics :)

More Holiday in Hand 2009

I finally got another day of Holiday in Hand 2009 layouts done for my month long look at our holiday celebrations. The prompt for December 7 was about holiday foods. I journaled about the fact that I do not enjoy cooking or baking so this particular task of the holiday season is not one I look forward to. Despite that, each year I've learned to prepare and plan better and the result is that this task is no longer quite as daunting as it used to be.

 

 
 

A computer wasteland

Why is it that when I sit down at the computer with the goal of scrapping seriously for several hours, I end up doing everything but? Despite copious amounts of time on the computer yesterday, I got nothing done with regards to actually scrapping a single page. 

I did however, burn some files to CD for storage, edit Christmas morning pics, figure out how to get the digital copy of "UP!" on our MP3 players, cleaned up and added pics onto my Blackberry, bored myself silly reading the same online spots and who knows what else.  

Today, I strive to do better. There is a football game though...Ravens vs. Steelers. Can't miss that! And then we're going to visit family in from Colorado. That leaves me 2 hours to get something accomplished. 

Maybe I'll have better luck tomorrow?
